Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking can be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com or mailed to Briefly Speaking, 210 Wood St., Tarentum, PA 15084. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks before the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Fundraisers

• Rizzo’s Malabar Inn, Crabtree, will host a Christmas in July event at 6 p.m. July 14 to benefit Excela Health Hospice. Cost: $75, includes a glass of house sangria, an appetizer station, Italian buffet with antipasti bar and cookies. There will be a photo booth, basket raffle and 50/50. Ticket deadline is July 1. Tickets: 724-689-1800.

• Manor Lions Club will have a chicken barbeque from 11 a.m. until sold out June 25 in the parking lot of Roberts Roofing, Route 993, Manor. Menu: half chicken, applesauce, roll, cookie and drink, $10. Proceeds benefit Lions Club charities. Details: jrare4@comcast.net.

• St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 200 Leger Road, North Huntingdon, will have a car cruise and Blessing of the Bikes ceremony June 26. The cruise will be from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the lower church lot. The blessing will be at 2 p.m. in the upper parking lot. Vehicle fee for the cruise is $10. • An American Red Cross blood drive in honor of 11-year-old Cam Jasso will be from noon to 6 p.m. June 23 at Marion Elementary School gymnasium, 500 Perry Ave., Washington Township, Fayette County. Meetings

• Westmoreland County Operation Christmas Child Team will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 25 at Greensburg Church of the Brethren, 554 Stanton St., Southwest Greensburg. • Penn Township Senior Citizens will meet June 28 at Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Trafford. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 2. Lunch: $6. Dues: $2. Masks optional.

• Kennametal Retirees Local 1059 will have a reorganization meeting at 1 p.m. June 28 at the Latrobe Senior Citizens Center, 15 Avenue C, Latrobe.

Music

• The Jeannette Business Association and Elliott Group will sponsor a concert from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Elliott Group Amphitheater. The featured group will be East Coast Turnaround. Bring a lawn chair. Food trucks and a beer garden will be on the 400 and 500 blocks of Clay Avenue and South Fifth Street. Rain or shine. No pets, skateboards or bicycles permitted.

Organizations

The Laurel Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines International welcome women of all ages who enjoy singing to attend a rehearsal to get to know the group and hear their style of singing. Rehearsals are at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the basement of Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 Main St., Greensburg. Details: Sandy, 878-295-1142.

Senior Citizen News

• Applications for farmers market vouchers will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon June 27 at West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E Main St. Vouchers can be used through Nov. 1 at participating markets to buy produce grown in Pennsylvania. Details: 724-872-4976 or wncaa.square.site.

Special events

• Hannastown Veterinary Center will host a summer treat social for families and their pets from noon to 3 p.m. June 25 at the center, 305 Bothwell Road, Hempfield. There will be opportunities to meet the staff, free Kona Ice and pet-friendly treats, giveaways and a basket raffle tailored to dogs and cats. • Ligonier Valley Writers is accepting entries for its 17th annual Flash Fiction Contest. Deadline is Aug. 15. This year’s topic is mermaids, selkies and other water dwellers. Stories are usually performed for Halloween. Cash prizes will be awarded. There is no entry fee. Submission guidelines: LVWonline.org.

Theater

• Westmoreland Performing Arts will present, “Pinkalicous the Musical” at 6 p.m. June 24 and 25 at Westmoreland County Community College, Science Hall Theatre, 145 Pavilion Lane, Hempfield. Actors will be from the Tweens summer camp. The Teenz camp group will perform, “Snow Whit the Musical at 8:30 p.m. June 24 and 25 and 2 p.m. June 26 at the same venue.
