Church news

• Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Main St., Irwin, will have a Christmas Eve service for children and families at 4 p.m. The traditional candlelight service will be at 8 p.m. with vocal, organ and bell choir music. The sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated at both services. Details: 724-863-7350 or 724-610-1441.

• St. John United Church of Christ, 1230 Brownstown Road, Larimer, will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5 p.m.

• Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg, will have a Christmas Eve service for families at 7 p.m. The candlelight service will be at 11 p.m. Details: 724-834-0320.

Health

An American Red Cross community blood drive will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Mother of Sorrows Church hall, 4202 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville. Appointments: 800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.

Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking should be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks prior to the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.
