Art
• The Greensburg Art Center will host the free exhibit “Art Neighbors,” featuring the works of members of the Latrobe and Greensburg art centers, Saturday to June 11 at the center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield. A free opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Details: greensburgartcenter.org.
Church news
• St. Raymond of the Mountains Church, 170 Schoolhouse Lane, Donegal, will have a public devotion to honor the Divine Mercy of Jesus from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and a benediction. Details: 724-593-7479 or straymondchurch.org.
Fundraisers
• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will host bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card bingo board and $1 for quickies. Payout is 50-50. Free coffee.
• St. John United Church of Christ, 1230 Brownstown Road, Larimer, will host a pasta night from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church. Menu: stuffed shells, lasagna, spaghetti and meatball, garden salad, dessert and coffee or cold drink. Cost: $12, 6 and younger, $6. • Bushy Run Lions will sell takeout barbeque chicken dinners from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until sold out Sunday at a drive-thru at the Bushy Run Lions Community Building, Church Street, Claridge. Menu: half chicken, roll, coleslaw, cookie and drink, $12. Tickets: 724-629-3000. A limited number of tickets will be sold at the event.
• Laurelville Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a “Lunch and Learn” event at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in the center small dining hall. Bill Metzger of Confluence will discuss his book, “The Great Allegheny Passage Companion.” Cost: $15, includes lunch. Reservations required. Reservations: Laurelville.org. • New Alexandria Center for Active Adults will have bingo at 1 p.m. April 30 at the center, 207 W. Main St. Doors open at 11 a.m., and lunch will be served at noon. Cost: $20, includes lunch, cards for all 10 games and a jackpot ticket. Reservations recommended but not required. The theme will be “April Showers Bring May Flowers.” Wear something related to the theme to receive an extra jackpot ticket. There will be door prizes, a basket raffle and 50-50. • A “Spring Into Bingo” fundraiser will be at 1 p.m. May 1 at Youngwood Fire Hall, 104 S. Second Ave. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be served until 1 p.m. Cost: $25. Sponsored by Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital Auxiliary, there will be a basket raffle and 50-50. Proceeds will benefit auxiliary projects, including the annual scholarship awards. Meeting
• The Greensburg College Club will meet at 7 p.m. today at Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road. Guest speaker Rebecca Griffith, owner and manager of Shadowwood Gardens, will discuss spring planting and gardening. Public welcome.
Special events
• The Conemaugh Valley Conservancy will host the Stony-Kiski-Conemaugh River Sojourn June 2 to 5. The four-day event features mostly flat-water paddling from Johnstown to Apollo and visits parts of Cambria, Westmoreland, Indiana and Armstrong counties. Participate one day or all four. All skill levels are welcome. There will be guest speakers, and most meals are provided. Details: conemaughvalley conservancy.com/news-events.
• The Westmoreland County Senior Games will be May 3 to 13 at Mammoth Park in Mt. Pleasant Township. Anyone who is at least 50 is eligible to participate in any of the 30 events. County residency is not required. Events include high- and low-impact activities, such as boccie, bowling, canoeing, cornhole, darts, pickleball, golf, shuffleboard, swimming and more. Many events divide athletes into age brackets. All athletes who are registered in advance receive an event T-shirt and a picnic lunch May 5 and 9. Details: co.westmoreland.pa.us/parks.
