Fundraisers

• St. James Lutheran Church, Youngstown, will have a Festival of Trees from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 23 at the church, 4329 Route 982. More than 50 trees will be raffled. There will be a bake sale, children’s crafts, a photo booth, photos with Santa and free hot cocoa. Lunch will be available. The last ticket will be sold at 3 p.m. and the drawings will begin at 3:30 p.m.

• An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 24 at Roosevelt Hall, 2325 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt. Menu: pancakes, Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, sausage and breakfast beverages. Cost: $7; 6 to 12, $3; younger than 6, free. Sponsored by Mt. Pleasant Township Lions Club and Norvelt Volunteer Fire Department.

• The Christian Mothers and Ladies of Seven Dolors Parish will sponsor a poultry bingo and pie social at 1 p.m. Nov. 24 in the church social hall, 102 Center St., Yukon. Doors open at noon. Cost: $10, includes one board, pie and coffee; extra boards, $1 each. Food will be sold and there will be a basket raffle and 50-50.

Music

• The Greensburg chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a free recital by organist John S. Dixon at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Main St., Greensburg. A light reception will be afterward. The public is welcome.

Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking should be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks prior to the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.
