Westmoreland happenings: Halloween bingo, winter coat giveaway, chicken dinner, more
Fundraisers
• Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg, will sponsor a winter coat and clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25 in the church basement. Everyone is welcome.
• A chicken and biscuit dinner to benefit Mon Valley Paws will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Italian Club, 112 Seventh St., Monessen. Menu: chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes and dessert. • A Halloween bingo to benefit Pawluver Husky Network and Adopt a Sato will be Oct. 26 at the Lincoln Heights Civic Center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. Doors open at noon, early birds will begin at 12:30 p.m. and regular games will start at 1:30 p.m. Cost: in advance, $30, includes cards for three early bird games, 12 regular games, two specials and the jackpot game, food and drinks; at the door if available, $35. Halloween event
• Oak Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, 827 Georges Station Road, Hempfield, will host a trick-or-treat from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 23 at the center. Staff and residents will participate and there will be games, refreshments, costume prizes and activities. Bring a container for treats. No reservations required. Details: 724-837-7100.
Veterans News
• A veterans service officer will be available to discuss Veterans Administration benefits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Donegal American Legion, 3812 Route 31, Donegal Township. Veterans, spouses and widows from all counties welcome. No appointment required. Details: Ron, 724-830-3532.
