Church News

• Greensburg Church of the Brethren hosts a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St., Southwest Greensburg. Dinner is included. Participants must be accompanied by a family member or caregiver. Donations will be accepted. Details: 724-834-2130 or gbgcob.org.

Easter event

• Cook Township Community Center, 1714 Route 711, will host a free Easter party for children age 12 and younger from 1 to 3 p.m. April 5 at the center. Children should dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. Reservations appreciated, but not required. Donations of plastic eggs welcome until April 1. Drop off at the supervisor building. Fundraisers

• Spaces are available for the West Newton Evening Market planned the second Tuesday of each month April through October. Cost: $10 per space per month. Details: 724-689-4342.

• West Newton First Church of God is accepting orders for two hoagie sale fundraisers to fund a mission trip to the Navajo Nation. Delivery dates: April 12 and May 10. Cost: $10, for a 17-inch American hoagie. Pickups: by 11 a.m. April 12 and May 10 at 157 N. Second St., West Newton. Orders: 724-872-7467 or Darlene, 724-872-7427.

• St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, North Huntingdon, is accepting orders for a pierogi sale set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28 at the church, 90 Bethel Road. Cost per dozen: sweet cabbage and potato & cheese, $14; sauerkraut, $15; lekvar, $16; and cottage cheese, $17. Limited quantities will be available if not preordered. • Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo at 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Health

• A seminar about senior citizen bullying will be at 9 a.m. March 25 at Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Greater Pittsburgh, 890 Weatherwood Lane, Hempfield. Sponsored by the RNC, Pennsylvania Link to Aging and Disability Resources and Wesley Family Services, there will be an opportunity for networking and sharing of resources. • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township.

Meetings

• Rostraver Sportsmen and Conservation Association, 539 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver, hosts trap shoots from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and at 10 a.m. Thursdays and 11 a.m. Saturdays. Public welcome. Details: 412-580-9038 or rostraversca.org.

Senior Citizen News

• Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will have grocery bingo and a birthday celebration bingo at 12:15 p.m. March 25. National Spinach Day will be celebrated with a snack at 1 p.m. March 26. Lunch reservations required one day in advance. Donations are accepted for all activities. Details: 724-787-1760.

• A Seniors for Safe Driving class will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m. April 14 at Adams Memorial Library, 1112 Ligonier St., Latrobe. The class is PennDOT approved and for drivers who are at least 55 years old. Safe drivers can receive a 5 percent discount on auto insurance for three years. Cost: $17. Theater

• Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale will present “The Rainbow Fish Musical” at 7:30 p.m. March 28 and 29 and 2:30 p.m. March 30 at the center, 111 Pittsburgh St. Cost: $15. Tickets: geyerpac.com or at the door if available.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Westmoreland Historical Society will host a meeting at 10 a.m. March 29 at the Westmoreland History Education Center, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield, for anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer at the society or Historic Hanna’s Town. People are needed to greet visitors, lead programs and tours, file papers, help with mailings and special events and more. A light lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Those attending are welcome to stay for a 1 p.m. Women’s History Month presentation at no charge. Reservations requested: 724-836-1800, ext. 210.
