Westmoreland happenings: Holiday house tour, photos with Santa, toy collection, blood drive , more

Fundraisers

• Sage’s Army and Dream Life Recovery, 6044 Lincoln Highway, Suite 400, Greensburg, will hold a holiday toy drive for teens and children 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at the center. There will be food and opportunities for photos with Santa. Donations welcome during regular business hours. Details: 724-863-5433.

• Mon Valley Paws will offer photos with Santa 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Pet Supplies Plus, 120 Sara Way, Belle Vernon. Photos will be digital and emailed to the pet’s family. Cost: $15. The group is collecting new, durable dog toys to be distributed to animal rescue shelters. Toys can be dropped off at Pet Supplies Plus. Details: 724-493-8305.

• Norwin Historical Society will sponsor its Homes for the Holidays House Tour 3:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6. Cost: $50 for a VIP Transport Tour, that includes bus transportation and admission; and $25 for a self-guided tour. • Irwin Senior Activity Center will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for Thanksgiving. Details: 724-787-1760.

Volunteers

• AARP Foundation is seeking volunteers for the upcoming tax season for its free Tax-Aide program in North Huntingdon, Trafford, Penn Township, Murrysville and Delmont. Positions to be filled include tax return preparers and client facilitators who help organize tax documents and and greet clients. No experience is required. Training will begin in December.
