Westmoreland happenings include classes, flea market and a hero walk
Classes
• YMCA Westmoreland County, 424 N. Main St., Greensburg, will offer English as a Second Language Classes at the center.
Beginners will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays Sept. 8 to Dec. 17, with no class Thanksgiving Day Nov. 26. Intermediate classes will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays Sept. 9 to Dec. 18.

• Laurelville Christian Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host an outdoor yoga event — Sunset Yoga with Find Your Fire — Fitness at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 10 atop Laurelville’s Sunset Hill. Bring a mat. Fruited water will be served. Fundraisers
• Center Bethel Church of God, 428 Ruffsdale Alverton Road, Alverton, will have a flea market and bake sale from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Lunch and bake sale items will be sold Saturday and a $2 bag sale will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Face masks recommended. Details: 724-404-8052
• Mt. Pleasant Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a walk to support the Pennsylvania Hero Foundation at 11 a.m. Saturday. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at the VFW, 416 W. Main St. The route will begin at the VFW and proceed to Veterans Park. Cost: $20, includes a T-shirt or hat.
