Westmoreland happenings include paddleboard lessons, car show and carnival
Classes
• Laurelville Christian Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will offer private stand-up paddleboard lessons from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays beginning June 8 at the center. Learn to safely mount, paddle, reboard and maneuver the board. Cost: $15 for a 30-minute session for up to two people. Those younger than 18 must have a guardian present. Fundraisers
• Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen, will host a car show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 22, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Cars, trucks and motorcycles welcome. Dash plates will be awarded to the first 100 vehicles and there will be a 50/50 raffle, basket auction, DJ, door prizes, food and drinks. Rain date: May 23, with setup at noon. • Hartford Heights Volunteer Fire Department, North Huntingdon, will host its hometown carnival May 25-29 in its parking lot, 14335 Route 30. There will be food, rides and games. Hours: 6 to 10 p.m. May 25 to May 28, and 2 to 10 p.m. May 28. CDC guidelines will be observed.
• Fairview Church of God will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays through the end of October at the church, 2202-2206 Route 982, Mount Pleasant Township.
• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will host bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. May 6 and 20 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games. Cost is 25 cents for a three-card bingo board. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.
Meetings
• Mt. Pleasant American Legion Auxiliary will have its appreciation dinner meeting at 6 p.m. June 1. Reservations required by 5 p.m. May 21. Masks required. Reservations: 724-875-1032
• Penn Township Senior Citizens will meet at Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Trafford. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 2. Lunch: $6. Dues: $2. Masks required.
Local chapters of the Women’s Business Network have scheduled meetings. Those attending can learn how the group supports the success and growth of women in business. Professional women are welcome and can attend as a guest at no cost. Some meetings will be held online. Call the chapter representative for more information.

Library news
• West Newton Library, 124 N. Water St., has several boxes of magazines to share. They are all current and on a large variety of subjects. Library hours are noon to 5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
