Special events
• Southwestern PA Council for the Arts antiques show and sale is planned 6-9 p.m. Friday , 10 a.m.-6 p.m.Saturday with ask the expert 1-4 p.m., and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 27 in Greensburg Country Club, Route 130, Hempfield. Classes/programs
• A general discussion about how we are doing as members of our community and nation will be the discussion at 7 p.m. Monday at the Socrates Café in Delmont Public Library, 77 Greensburg St. All are welcome.
• Mt. Pleasant Public Library, 120 S. Church St., will host these programs:
— 11:30 a.m. Tuesday , Lap-sit for children ages 18 months-3 years.
— 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Smart phones and tablets class. Cost: $5.
— 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, story hour for ages 3-5.

• Senior Computer Associates of Latrobe will hold basic computer classes Tuesdays in February and March; and iPad classes Thursdays in March. All classes are held 9-11 a.m. in Latrobe Center for Active Adults, 15 Avenue C. Cost: $20 per month. Register: 724-537-3796.
Fundraisers
• Cub Scout Pack 370 will be selling soups and baked goods 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 27 during the Ligonier Ice Fest at Heritage United Methodist Church on the diamond. They will also sell hot dogs and drinks.
• Relay For Life of Norwin-Purple Fighters is hosting a benefit concert featuring Bon Journey with doors opening at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 in Antonelli’s Event Center, Irwin. The event will also offer 50/50, Chinese auction and food will be available for purchase. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at squareup.com/store/purplefighter or by emailing purplefighter@comcast.net.
• Two shows with professional comedians will raise money for Westmoreland County parks and trail projects. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Dinner, 50/50 drawings and basket auctions included. Ages 21 and older. Tickets: $30.
— Feb. 16 at Colton Hall, 3100 Blocks Road, Claridge.

Trips:
• West Newton Center for Active Adults is sponsoring these trips:
— April 27 to Cleveland; cost: $120
— May 18, Romney, W.Va., on a three-hour train ride on the Potomac Eagle; cost: $120.
— July 24, Amish adventure tour of Holmes County; cost: $115.

Church events
• Spaghetti dinner is planned 4-6 p.m. Saturday in Trinity United Methodist Church, 407 Duquesne Ave., Trafford. Cost: $10, $5 children 10 and under.
• Winter breakfast and bake sale is planned 8 a.m.-noon Jan. 27 at St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria. Menu will include ham, sausage, pancakes, eggs and potatoes. Cost: $7, $4 for ages 6-12; younger children eat free. Basket raffle.
• A free hot lunch to those in need is served once every month on the last Tuesday of each month. The next lunch will be noon-1 p.m. Jan. 29 at at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, 1182 Ashland St., Greensburg. Information: 724-834-1311.
• A scrapbook and card-making retreat is planned 8 a.m.-8 p.m. April 27 at the Penn Run Christian Outreach Center, 75 Grace Church Road, Penn Run, Indiana County. To reserve a spot call 724-463-0420.
