Fundraisers

• Jeannette American Legion will host bingo at 1 p.m. Dec. 1 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a $750 jackpot game, magic number, door prizes and 50-50. The kitchen will be open. Smoke-free venue. Proceeds benefit veterans and community activities. Details: Rick, 724-600-5061.

• St. Stephen Orthodox Church, Unity, is accepting orders for its Christmas kolachi roll sale. Varieties: nut, apricot and poppyseed. Cost: $15. Order deadline: Dec. 5. Pickup: 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 14 and 21 at the church, 1520 Susan Drive. Orders: Cathy, 724-537-7238, or Brigette, 724-836-0930.

• Community Church of Hecla, 537 Hecla Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a basket and cash bingo at 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at the church. Doors open at 1 p.m. A light lunch will be served. Details and takeout orders: 724-423-6553 or 724-244-2586.

• Protect PT will host a workshop to make a winter wreath at 1 p.m. Dec. 7 at the group’s Environmental Education Center, 3344 Route 130, suite B, Harrison City. Cost: $20, includes supplies and instruction. Refreshments will be sold and there will be a basket raffle. Tickets: tinyurl.com/4zm52uez.

Christmas event

• The West Newton Miracle on Main Street event will be from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the borough. There will be vendors, food trucks, a craft and vendor market, children’s activities and a parade at 5:30 p.m. Music performances will begin at 4:30 p.m. on the main stage.

Meeting

• Westmoreland Area Nurses Association will meet at 4 p.m. Dec. 2 at Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, 671 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Hempfield. Guests welcome. Use the lower entrance by the outdoor pavilion. Ham and beverages will be provided. Bring your favorite holiday dish to share, a plate and utensils and a $5 gift in fancy wrapping for crazy bingo. Donations will be collected for the Blackburn Center. Details: Cordie, 412-841-8529.
