Church News
• Mt. Pleasant Ministerium will sponsor free lunches at noon on Wednesdays through April 5 at Mt. Pleasant Church of God, 936 W. Main St. The Rev. Rob Allison, pastor of the host church, will deliver a short message at the March 1 lunch. No reservations are required, and free parking is available.
Fish fries
• St. Pius X Parish will serve Lenten dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Fridays Feb. 24 to March 31 at the church social hall, 222 Summit St., Mt. Pleasant. Menu: baked or fried fish, green beans, coleslaw and breadstick, $15. Haluski will be available Feb. 24, and March 10 and 24. Pierogi will be available March 3, March 17 and March 31. • West Newton Library will have a gift basket raffle from noon to 4 p.m. March 12 at Turkeytown Firehall, 90 Supervisor Drive, South Huntingdon. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Gift basket drawings will begin at 2:30 p.m. Cost: $20, nonrefundable, includes a light lunch and 25 general gift basket tickets. • Norwin Lions will host a Cubcake Wars competition and fundraiser from noon to 3 p.m. March 12 at Norwin High School cafeteria, 251 McMahon Drive.
