Church News
• St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria, will have all-day Eucharistic Adoration today for the memorial of Sts. Perpetua and Felicity. Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m., adoration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and benediction will be at 6 p.m. Drop in anytime during the day. Details: 724-668-2829.
• Greensburg Church of the Brethren hosts a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St. Dinner is included. • Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 140 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg, will host a Lenten lunch and worship service Thursdays through March 28 at the church. The service begins at 12:05 p.m. and the luncheon is afterward in the social room. Luncheon cost: $5.
Easter events
• Community Revitalization of West Newton is accepting reservations for its fourth annual free Easter Egg hunt set for 12:30 to 3 p.m. March 16 at the Lions Club Field House on Pittsburgh Street. There will be a basket raffle, bike giveaway and egg hunt. Reservation deadline is Saturday. • Latrobe Shop Hop Nights will sponsor an egg hunt beginning from 4 to 7 p.m. March 6 at participating merchant locations in the downtown area. Shoppers will collect one egg per merchant location and each egg will contain a special surprise such as a sweet treat or coupon for savings at another merchant. Fundraisers
• Mantle House Mission is selling advance tickets for a waffle pancake brunch set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 17 at the West Newton Lions Fieldhouse, 507 Pittsburgh St. Menu: waffles, waffle sticks or pancakes with scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit salad and beverage. • A super basket raffle to benefit West Newton Public Library will be Sunday at Turkeytown Volunteer Fire Department, 90 Supervisors Drive, South Huntingdon. Doors open at 11 a.m. and drawings will start at 2:30 p.m. There will be a president’s choice table, scratch-off tickets and two 50-50 raffles. Cost: $20, includes a light lunch and 25 general raffle tickets. Tickets: stop in at Gary’s Chuckwagon, 109 S. Second St., West Newton; and at the library, 124 N. Water St.
• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board; $1 for quickies. Payout is 50-50. Free coffee.
• The Disciples Hands Ministry at Greensburg Church of the Brethren will have a soup and sandwich sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 554 Stanton Ave., Southwest Greensburg. Proceeds will be used to feed the hungry. Details: 724-834-2130.

Meetings
• The Braddock Trail chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Saturday at the chapter house, 200 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant. Lunch will be at noon and the meeting will be at 1 p.m. The program will be American History Essay contest winners.
• South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. March 12 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave. The program will be about Alexander the Great. There will be a 50-50 raffle and prizes for children. Public welcome. Membership applications are being accepted. Details: 724-984-6611.
• The Westmoreland County/Laurel Highlands chapter of the American Field Service high school student exchange program will meet at 7 p.m. Monday the One Room Schoolhouse, on the grounds of AK Hutchinson Elementary School, 810 Welty St., Southwest Greensburg. Host family recognition will be celebrated and students from Germany and Bulgaria will speak about their countries. Host families are needed for the 2024-25 school year. Senior Citizens
• Irwin Senior Activity Center will celebrate National Cereal Day at 10 a.m. today at the center in First Methodist Church, 310 Oak St. Bring no more than one half cup of your favorite trail mix ingredient.
