Westmoreland happenings: Live Nativity, luncheon meeting, bingos, more

Christmas

Level Green Presbyterian Church will have a free live Nativity 7 p.m. Dec. 19 on the church lawn, 105 Olive Drive, Trafford. Visiting with the animals will start at 6:45 p.m. The Mon Yough Chorale will present an indoor Christmas concert at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall. There will be crafts and face painting for children. Bring a canned food item for the Trafford Food Bank. Parking is limited so carpooling is recommended.

Fundraisers

• Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Smoke-free venue. Food will be available and there will be a 50-50 and instant bingos. • Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 18 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Payout is 50-50. Free coffee. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board; $1 for quickies.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township.

Meeting

• Retirees and former employees of Commercial Bank and Trust of Pennsylvania will meet for lunch at noon Dec. 17 at Jaffre’s Restaurant, 827 E. Pittsburgh St. Greensburg. Reservations required. Reservations: Mary Ann, 724-537-7894.

Veterans News

• A veterans service officer will be available 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 17 in the office of state Rep. Jill Cooper, 105 Pfeffer Road, suite 5, Washington Township. Services available will include disability and pension claims, benefit questions, assisting spouses with survivor benefits issues and applications for veterans grants. Appointments will be accepted, but walk-ins are welcome. Appointments: 724-387-9113.
