Church News

• Greensburg Church of the Brethren hosts a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St., Southwest Greensburg. Dinner is included. Participants must be accompanied by a family member or caregiver. Donations will be accepted. Details: 724-834-2130 or gbgcob.org.

Fundraisers

• The 22nd annual Green Luncheon hosted by the Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation Citizens Advisory Board will be Sept. 18 at pavilion 10 at Twin Lakes Peach Park, Georges Station Road, near Greensburg. Check-in will begin at 11:30 a.m. and a buffet lunch by Marinades Grill will be served at noon, rain or shine. Awards honoring those who support the county parks through donations and outstanding service will be presented afterward. Cost: $27. Ticket deadline: Sept. 11. Tickets and details: 724-830-3962.

• The Sewickley Area Business and Community Association will sponsor its seventh annual Herminie Car, Truck and Bike Show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the intersection of Church and Second streets in Herminie. The food court will be in front of St. Mary Byzantine Church and there will be children’s games, a DJ and craft vendors. Vehicle fee: $15 in advance; $20 the day of the event. • Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township.

Meetings

• South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave. There will be a 50-50 raffle and prizes for children. The program will be about two- and three-cent pattern coins. Public welcome. Membership applications are being accepted. Details: 724-984-6611.

Music

• The Mon Yough Chorale is looking for singers to join the group for the upcoming season. No audition is required. Rehearsals are from 7 to 9 p.m. Sundays starting Sept. 14 in the fellowship hall of Sampson’s Mills Presbyterian Church, 1665 Lincoln Way, White Oak. • The Hempfield Area Marching Band Festival will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at Spartan Stadium, 4345 Route 136, Hempfield. Gates open at 5 p.m. Bands scheduled to perform include Greensburg Salem, Seton LaSalle, South Allegheny, Yough and Hempfield Area high schools and Saint Vincent College. Hempfield Area High School Alumni who served in the Vietnam War will be recognized. Cost: $10; senior citizens, $8; children and students, $5.

Senior Citizens

• Latrobe Center for Active Adults, 15 Avenue C, will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the center. Details: Beverly, 724-539-0237.
