Art
• Greensburg Art Center will host a Black and White Art Show through Oct. 17 at the center, 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield. The display includes 55 pieces in grayscale, sepia tones, natural clay and natural wood. The center will host a free presentation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 about a new tri-county art center planned by Ernesto Camacho, owner of the Manos Gallery in Tarentum. Fundraisers
• The Rosary Society of Holy Family Church, Latrobe, will host a stuffed cabbage dinner and oldies dance from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 in the church social hall, 1200 Ligonier St. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. and DJs Double Trouble will play afterward. • Lincoln Heights Civic Association will have bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 18 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Payout is 50-50. Free coffee. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card board; $1 for quickies.
• Greensburg Church of the Brethren will host its annual picnic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 20 at the church, 554 Stanton St., Southwest Greensburg. There will be food, a basket raffle, a train ride for children, games and a visit with Santa. Proceeds will be donated to Southwest Greensburg police and fire departments and Mutual Aid Service of Greensburg.
• A spaghetti dinner will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at Irwin First United Church of Christ, 400 Main St. Cost: $12; children, $6.
• A fundraiser to benefit Mon Valley Paws will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 17 at The Trailside, 108 W. Main St., West Newton. A percentage of sales will be donated. Pet food donations will be accepted for a chance to win a $50 gift card to Pet Supplies Plus and there will be a basket raffle. Details: 724-493-8305.
• A rummage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at Fairview Church of God, 2202-2206 Route 982, Mt. Pleasant Township. Lunch and baked goods will be sold in the church.
• Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo at 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Smoke-free venue. Food will be available and there will be a 50-50 and instant bingos. • The Roadman-White American Legion Riders will sponsor its fifth annual Run For Fayette Veterans Billeting Sept. 20 starting at the Donegal American Legion, 3812 Route 31, Donegal Township. Check-in with coffee and doughnuts will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the ride will start at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served and there will be a silent auction, T-shirt sale and 50-50. Cost: $15; passenger, $10; lunch only ticket, $10.
• West Newton Public Library, 124 N. Water St., will collect nonperishable food items for the Westmoreland Food Bank through Sept. 30 during business hours. Hours: noon to 5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

• An American Red Cross community blood drive will be from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19 in the fellowship hall of First United Church of Christ, 1008 Harrison City Export Road, Harrison City. Special event
• A free program about the critical role of the courts as one of the three branches of government will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Fred M. Rogers Center at St. Vincent College, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Unity. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The panel will include former Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett and former judges. • A veterans service officer will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 17 in the office of state Rep. Jill Cooper, 105 Pfeffer Road, suite 5, Washington Township. Services available will include disability and pension claims, benefit questions, assisting spouses with survivor benefits issues and applications for veterans grants.
