Art
• Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley will offer a beginners oil painting workshop with local artist Doreen Currie from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 2 at the museum, 1 Boucher Lane, Ligonier Township. Fundraisers
• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will host bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Hempfield. There will be 20 regular games. Cost is 25 cents for a three-card bingo board. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.
• A craft and vendor show to benefit Wreaths Across America – North Huntingdon will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 100 Billot Ave., Irwin. There will be crafters, vendors, a basket auction, homemade treats and the Speal’s On Wheels food truck. Proceeds will be used to place live evergreen wreaths on veterans’ gravesites in Union Cemetery, Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Long Run Cemetery and Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
• Mt. Pleasant Township Lions Club and Norvelt Volunteer Fire Department will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 21 at Roosevelt Hall, Norvelt. Menu: pancakes, Belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, sausage and breakfast beverages. Cost: $5; age 6 to 12, $3; younger than 6, free.
• The George Onda District chapter of the First Catholic Slovak Union will host its annual Stedry Vecer at 4 p.m. Dec. 5 at Christ Our Shepherd Center, Route 30, Hempfield. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Larry Kulick of the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg and a traditional Slovak Christmas Eve dinner will be served. There will be door prizes and entertainment by the Pittsburgh Slovakians. Reservations required by Nov. 23. Cost: $30; age 3 to 11, $10. Reservations: 724-493-8712

• Greensburg College Club will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in the Laurel Room of the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center, 51 Old Salem Road. Guest speaker Marine veteran Nancy Anders will share stories of her time in the service and the role of women in the military. Public welcome.
Special events
• The annual Sparkle of Christmas Parade sponsored by Jeannette Business Association and Jeannette American Legion will begin at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 on Clay Avenue in the borough. Food trucks will be on Fifth Street with tables inside a tent at the amphitheater. Activities in the American Legion will include cookie and candy sales and vendors at 4:30 p.m. and after the parade and visits with Santa Claus after the parade. Details: 724-522-1111
• Norwin EIks, the Pennsylvania National Guard and Westmoreland County Food Bank will host a Military Share food distribution from 9:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 8 at the Elks, 135 Elks Lane, Manor. Westmoreland County veterans, and active-duty personnel including National Guard and Reserve personnel are welcome. Reservations required by Nov. 24.
