Westmoreland happenings: painting workshop, bingo, basket raffle
Classes
• Laurelville Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will offer a painting workshop to make a cutout wooden stacked heart decoration at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the center. Participants must be at least 8 years old and all skill levels are welcome. Those attending are welcome to wear red or pink and bring a snack to share. Fundraisers
• Lincoln Heights Civic Association will host bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 3 and 17 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games and five quickies. Cost: 25 cents for a three-card bingo board and $1 for quickies. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.
• Jeannette American Legion will host a super bingo at 1 p.m. Feb. 6 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $20 per packet. Full extra packet and specials available. The kitchen will be open. Details: 724-600-5061.
• A basket raffle to benefit the Greensburg Art Center will be Feb. 14. The basket theme is “Frida Kahlo and a Taste of Mexico.” Tickets: online $10, includes three numbers; or $5 each or three for $10 in person at the art center. Details and tickets: greensburgartcenter.org.
Church news
• Greensburg Church of the Brethren will host a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St. Dinner is included. Participants must be accompanied by a family member or caregiver. Donations will be accepted.
• Derry First United Methodist Church, 311 N. Ligonier St., will have its monthly Ladies Lunch at noon Feb. 8 at the church. Donations will be accepted. Public welcome.
Meetings
• The Westmoreland County American Field Service high school exchange program is seeking host families for the 2022-23 school year. An informational meeting will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at One Room Schoolhouse, 810 Welty St., Greensburg. Current students will be on hand to discuss their experiences. Local chapters of the Women’s Business Network have scheduled meetings. Those attending can learn how the group supports the success and growth of women in business. Professional women are welcome and can attend as a guest at no cost. Some meetings will be held online. Call the chapter representative for more information.

• The Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging will host its monthly Caregiver Support Group meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 9 at the McKenna Center for Active Adults, 971 Old Salem Road, Greensburg.
