Fundraisers
• Community Church of Hecla, 537 Hecla Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a Vera Bradley bingo at 1 p.m. Nov. 2 at the church. Doors open at noon. A light lunch will be served. Details and tickets: 724-396-8065 or 724-244-2586.
• A pancake and sausage dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 4 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg. Cost: $10; children, $5. Tickets: 724-834-0320, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; or at the door.
• First Presbyterian Church, 3202 N. Hills Road, Murrysville, will host a Celebrate the Seasons sale and vendor show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at the church Laird Hall. Slightly used Christmas and fall items will be available. Details: mlholtz6@msn.com.
• Jeannette American Legion will host bingo at 1 p.m. Nov. 2 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a $750 jackpot game, magic number, door prizes and 50-50. The kitchen will be open. Smoke-free venue. Proceeds benefit veterans and community activities. Details: Rick, 724-600-5061.
• St. Bartholomew Church will begin to observe winter hours at the Nov. 2 regular Sunday bingo in the church Marian Hall, 2538 Route 119, Crabtree. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., and early birds start at 1:30 p.m.
• Olive Branch Baptist Church, 296 Route 981, Rostraver, will host its monthly clothing sale from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Nov. 1 at the church. Donations of clean, used clothing in black plastic bags are welcome and can be placed on the porch at the rear of the building. Profits are used to help those in need.
Meetings
• Mt. Pleasant American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at the post, 752 W. Main St. Members should order dinner from the post kitchen.
• Westmoreland Area Nurses Association will meet at 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Boulevard Restaurant, 900 Towne Square Drive, Hempfield. No reservations required. Details: Cordie, 412-841-8529.
• The Braddock Trail chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Nov. 1 at the chapter house, 200 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant. Lunch will be at noon, and the meeting will be at 1 p.m. The program will be a presentation by Patsy Kahmann, author of “House of Kahmanns.”
Special Event
• State Rep. Jill Cooper will sponsor a firearms safety and rights seminar from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 6 at the Lamplighter Restaurant, 6566 Route 22, Salem.
