Festivals

• The annual St. Pius X Parish Festival, Mt. Pleasant, will be held 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the church, 224 Summit St. There will be food including the famous parish pizza, games of chance, raffles, bingo, basket auction, children’s games and more. Entertainment will include: DJ Big Basel Productions from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m.; the Johnstown Button Box Band from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Laurie & Shirley from 3:30 to 5 p.m.; and Rodger & Bill Acoustic from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Fundraisers

• Ligonier Valley Writers will celebrate the publication of the 2025 edition of the Loyalhanna Review from 7 to 9 p.m. July 26 at Simply Pink, 517 Frye Farm Road, Unity. Appetizers will be served and Loyalhanna Review authors will read from their work. Cost: $15 at the door and includes a copy of the issue, but no registered guest will be turned away. • A rummage sale will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Fairview Church of God, 2202-2206 Route 982, Mt. Pleasant Township. Lunch and baked goods will be sold.

• A bingo to benefit Westmoreland Community Action will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Grandview Firehall, 1655 Ridge Road, Penn Township. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the kitchen will open at 2 p.m. Bring a can of food for the Community Action food drive to be entered into a special raffle. Admission: $30 at the door; $25 in advance; includes 16 games, four specials and a $1,500 three series jackpot. There will be food, raffles, a lottery board and 50-50. History

• The Westmoreland Historical Society will sponsor a Civil War encampment and reenactment weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield. There will be demonstrations, displays and reenactments. The 46th Pennsylvania Regiment Band will perform Civil War-era music on 19th century instruments from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19. Concert admission only: $5. Admission: $12; age 6 to 17, $6; family pass, $30; children younger than 5 and anyone who is dressed in Civil War attire, free. Meetings

• Rostraver Sportsmen and Conservation Association, 539 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 21. The club hosts trap shoots from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. Thursdays and 11 a.m. Saturdays. Public welcome. Details: 412-580-9038 or rostraverca.org.

• Mt. Pleasant American Legion Auxiliary will have their meeting and installation of officers at 6 p.m. Aug. 5 at the post, 752 W. Main St. Dinner reservations required. Reservations: Kelly, 724-542-4478.

• Golden Dome Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. today, July 17, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg. The program will be a group project to make baby hats for a local hospital’s maternity unit. Bring baby yarn and appropriate needles. Patterns will be supplied. Bring items for Feeding the Spirit and chemo caps. Guests and new members welcome. Details: Lorraine, 724-836-6323.
