Fundraisers

• A peach festival will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at the West Newton Lions Field House, 511 Pittsburgh St. Sponsored by First Church of God, the menu will include sandwiches, salads, peach cobbler and drinks.

• Mon Valley YMCA, 101 Taylor Run Road, Carroll Township, will sponsor its annual doggie paddle from 5 to 6 p.m. Aug. 26 and 27 at the center’s outdoor pool. Small dogs should come on Aug. 26 and dogs over 30 pounds are welcome on Aug. 27. Mon Valley Paws will collect pet food and supplies for local animal shelters. Details: 724-314-6571.

Health

• A DivorceCare support group for anyone who has filed for or completed a divorce will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays Sept. 17 to Dec. 17 in the St. Vincent Parish Center Assembly room, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Unity. Meeting

• Business and Professional Women is a nonprofit network of women who come together for personal and professional development, friendship and business contacts. Local organizations meet in Greensburg, Indiana, Latrobe, Ligonier Valley, McKeesport, Greater Pittsburgh and Scottdale. Details: Carol, 919-428-8529.

Senior Citizen News

• Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will celebrate August birthdays and play grocery bingo on Aug. 26. The penny auction will be at 11:30 Aug. 28. Registration for events and lunch required at least one day in advance. Donations are accepted for all activities. Details: 724-787-1760.

Special Event

• Community Options Inc. will host its third annual “Chance to Dance” prom for individuals with disabilities from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 12 at Live Casino at Westmoreland Mall, Route 30, Hempfield. This year’s theme will be a Hawaiian luau. Guests are welcome to wear Hawaiian or summer attire. Cost: $20, includes admission for one family member or caregiver; dinner, dancing, a photo booth and a goody bag. There will be a caricature artist and entertainment by Tuika’s Polynesian Island Magic and DJ David Palmer. Ticket deadline: Sept. 5. Tickets: Madison Raling, 724-221-6119.
