• St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria, will have all-day Eucharistic Adoration Sept. 29 for the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m., adoration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and benediction will be at 6 p.m. Drop in anytime during the day. Fundraisers
• Feeding the Spirit will host its annual fall fundraiser Harvest Happening from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at Moreland’s at Waterworks, Broad Street Extension, South Greensburg. The theme will be “The Sixties” and there will be free appetizers, a cash bar, music, a basket raffle and 50-50. Admission: $20 at the door. Details: feedspirit.org.
• Community Revitalization of West Newton will sponsor a Sadie Hawkins dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the West Newton Gymnasium, 113 S. Fifth St. There will be line dance lessons and a DJ. There will be craft sales, a silent auction and flea market. Lunch will be available. Veterans who attend will receive a free raffle ticket to win a patriotic quilt.
• Jeannette American Legion will host a bingo at 1 p.m. Oct. 1 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a short business meeting followed by a program. Melissa Reckner from Penguin Court and Thomas Road Farm will discuss the property’s native plants and the upcoming field trip. Light refreshments will be served afterward. Annual dues are now payable. New members welcome.

• The Laurel Harmony Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, invites women of all ages and voice ranges to join them for their 3 p.m. Dec. 9 holiday concert. • A Seniors For Safe Driving course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Connect 55+, 4000 Village Drive, Penn Township. The class is PennDOT approved and for drivers who are at least 55 years old. Those who complete the course can qualify for reduced auto insurance premiums. There is no behind-the-wheel driving. • AARP is seeking volunteers for its Tax Aide program that provides free preparation help to anyone with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low-to-moderate income. Volunteers are needed at sites in North Huntingdon, Trafford, Penn Township, Murrysville and Delmont. Positions include tax return preparers, client facilitators and appointment schedulers.
