Church News

• St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria, will have all-day Eucharistic Adoration Sept. 29 for the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m., adoration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and benediction will be at 6 p.m. Drop in anytime during the day. Fundraisers

• Feeding the Spirit will host its annual fall fundraiser Harvest Happening from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at Moreland’s at Waterworks, Broad Street Extension, South Greensburg. The theme will be “The Sixties” and there will be free appetizers, a cash bar, music, a basket raffle and 50-50. Admission: $20 at the door. Details: feedspirit.org.

• Community Revitalization of West Newton will sponsor a Sadie Hawkins dance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at the West Newton Gymnasium, 113 S. Fifth St. There will be line dance lessons and a DJ. • Jeannette American Legion will host a bingo at 1 p.m. Oct. 1 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a short business meeting followed by a program. Melissa Reckner from Penguin Court and Thomas Road Farm will discuss the property’s native plants and the upcoming field trip. • A Seniors For Safe Driving course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Connect 55+, 4000 Village Drive, Penn Township. • AARP is seeking volunteers for its Tax Aide program that provides free preparation help to anyone with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low-to-moderate income.
