Fundraisers
• St. James Church, New Alexandria, will host its 13th annual car show and spaghetti dinner noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at the church, 306 St. James Lane. Rain or shine. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Vehicle fee is by donation. Dinner cost: $13; 10 and younger, $5. Food and drinks will be sold on the grounds, and there will be a DJ, basket raffle, instant bingo and 50-50. Details: 724-668-2829, opt. 3.
• The Westmoreland Historical Society Toast the Town cocktail party will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Bughman Mansion, 161 Aesthetic Way, Greensburg. Cost: $75, includes appetizers and signature cocktails. Tickets: 724-836-1800, ext. 210, or westmorelandhistory.org/hht.
• Christ Lutheran Church, West Newton, will have a rummage sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, in the church social room, 302 Vine St. Please use the rear entrance.
History
• Baltzer Meyer Historical Society will sponsor a program, “Metaphysics and the Paranormal: The Science Behind the Haunt,” 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Harrold Hall, 642 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Greensburg. Jay Blackburn will be the speaker.

• Westmoreland Area Nurses Association will meet at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Boulevard, 900 Towne Square Drive, Greensburg. No reservations required. Details: Cordie, 412-841-8529.
