Fundraiser

• West Newton First Church of God will have a Strawberry Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sewickley Grange, Route 136, Sewickley Township. Menu: homemade sandwiches, salads and strawberries. Dine in or takeout. Takeout orders: 724-872-7467.

Health

• Excela Health neurologist Dr. Cathleen Adams will present a program about strokes at the meeting of the Westmoreland Mall Walkers at 8:20 a.m. Thursday in the mall food court, Hempfield. Doors open at 7:45 a.m.

• Laurelville Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host outdoor Sunset Yoga classes Sundays atop Laurelville’s Sunset Hill. Dates and times are: 7:30 p.m. June 4 and 18, and July 2 and 16; 7 p.m. Aug. 6; 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20. July 16 session rain date is 7 p.m. Aug. 13. In case of rain, other sessions will be indoors. Library News

• The Adult Summer Reading program at Adams Memorial Library, Latrobe, “All Together Now,” will be June 5 through Aug. 5. Earn raffle prize tickets, register and track your hours using Beanstack. Details: 724-539-1972 or stop in at the library, 1112 Ligonier St.

Memorial Day observance

• Veterans of Hecla, 537 Hecla Road, Southwest, will sponsor a Memorial Day service Monday. Wreath laying, a gun salute and taps at the honor roll will begin at 10:15 a.m. A program with retired Col. Scott Giacobbi will be at 10:30 a.m. in Shirley Porterfield Memorial Hall. Giocobbi has been a teacher and coach at Mt. Pleasant Area High School since 1995. A light lunch will be served afterward.

Music

• The Jeannette Business Association will sponsor a concert from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Elliott Group Amphitheater featuring the group Twisted Fate. Bring a lawn chair. Food trucks and a beer garden will be on the 400 and 500 blocks of Clay Avenue and South Fifth Street. Rain or shine. No pets, skateboards or bicycles permitted.

Reunion News

• Greater Latrobe High School Class of 1978 will have a golf outing June 30 at the Latrobe Elks. A reunion will be July 1 at Live! Casino — Westmoreland Mall. Details and invitation: visit Latrobe Class 78 Chat on Facebook.

Senior Citizen news

• Herminie Senior Center, 101 Sewickley Ave., will have a free Memorial Day party Tuesday . Ventriloquist Cindy Speck will perform at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served. There will be a paper goods bingo and cotton candy. Details: 724-446-3282.

Volunteers needed

• Open Your Heart to a Senior is looking for volunteers to help out their older neighbors. People are needed to drive to doctor appointments, shop for groceries and make calls to check on and say hello to people who are alone. Information: 724-205-6282 or email oyhs@wfspa.org.

Sports

• Rostraver Sportsmens and Conservation Association, 539 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver, will hold trap shoots from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. Thursdays and 11 a.m. Saturdays. Public welcome. Details: 724-984-6611 or rostraversca.org.
