Fundraisers

• The Rosary Altar Society at St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, will hold its annual Christmas sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Nov. 13 at the church, 820 Carbon Road. There will be food, a basket raffle and bake sale.

• Level Green Lions will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Nov. 13 at the Lions Community Building, 123 Murrysville Road, Penn Township. Menu: regular, buckwheat or blueberry pancakes, link sausages and beverages. Cost: $6; younger than 10, $3; veterans, free. Dine in or takeout. Proceeds benefit community service and scholarships.

• St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 4480 Route 981, Trauger, Mt. Pleasant Township, will have bingo the second Friday of each month beginning Nov. 12. Doors open at 4 p.m. and early-bird bingo begins at 6:30 p.m. Cost: $26 for the first set of cards. The kitchen will not be open; however, snacks and drinks will be sold. • A karaoke fundraiser to benefit Pet Friends Inc. will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Greenhouse Winery, Irwin Herminie Road, North Huntingdon. The top three performers will win a prize. There will be a basket auction, 50/50 and wine tastings. Must be at least 21 to attend. Snacks are permitted, but no outside beverages, please. Cost: $20, includes food and wine tasting. • Community Church of Hecla, 537 Hecla Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a turkey dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the church. Dine in or takeout. Details and takeout orders: 724-396-8065 or 724-244-2586.

• A takeout soup sale will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at St. James Lutheran Church, 4329 Route 982, Unity Township. Soup menu: wedding, chicken noodle, vegetable barley, ham pot pie, broccoli cheese, ham and green bean, chili, stuffed pepper and potato cheese, $6 per quart, limit 6 quarts per order. • Youngwood Area Revitalization and Development will host its annual holiday and Christmas craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at Youngwood Fire Hall, 104 S. Second St. The fire department auxiliary kitchen will be open. Details: Mary Ann, 724-925-2480.

• Unity Township American Legion will sponsor an evening of comedy Nov. 20 at the post, 158 American Legion Road. Performers will include headliner John Evans, who was featured on NBC’s show “Last Comic Standing,” and Pittsburgh comedians Tim Ross and Trey McDonough. A cocktail and dinner hour will begin at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8. The post kitchen will have a full menu available. Admission: $15, includes draft beer and a chance in a drawing to win $100 cash. Proceeds will benefit the American Legion Housing for Homeless Veterans Corp and other post veterans’ charities. • Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce is conducting a raffle for one child and their family to arrive Nov. 26 in Santa’s sleigh to the Diamond and help him to press the button to light up the Diamond. Cost: $1 each; $5 for six. Tickets: through Nov. 19 at Abigail’s Coffeehouse, the Ligonier Creamery, Ligonier Library and at the chamber of commerce.

• The Latrobe Area Hospital Aid Society Lights of Love holiday celebration will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 online. Each light represents a gift in honor or memory of someone special. An online honor roll honor roll will be updated periodically. Suggested minimum donation is $8. Online donations are not being accepted this year. Gifts will be accepted through the end of the year. • An American Red Cross Blood community blood drive will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Greater Parkview Church Fellowship Hall, 103 Westminster Ave., Greensburg. Meetings

• Rostraver Sportsmen Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the club, 539 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver Township. Membership applications from men and women welcome. Details: 724-984-6611 or rostraversca.org.

• Penn Township Senior Citizens will meet Nov. 16 at Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Trafford. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 2. Lunch: $6. Dues: $2. Entertainment will be Native American speaker Running Bear.

Special events

• Laurel Valley Senior Citizens Center will sponsor a bus trip Nov. 22 to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Cost: $30, cash only, includes $20 in slot play and a $5 food voucher. Buses depart at 10 a.m. from the New Florence Veterans of Foreign Wars, at 10:30 a.m. from the Ligonier Borough bus parking lot and at 10:45 a.m. from New Alexandria Keystone Plaza and leave Pittsburgh at 6 p.m. Must be at least 21 and have photo ID to attend. • Westmoreland Food Bank will distribute a free order of pre-packaged food to county veterans. Registration required by Nov. 24. Registration: Pa. National Guard Family program, 717-836-4904.

Veterans Day events

• A memorial service to honor deceased veterans will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at West Newton First Church of God, 157 N. Second St. The Rev. Elizabeth A. Dunlap will officiate. Sponsored by the J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home, the guest speaker will be retired Maj. Rob Bojarski, logistics officer, U. S. Army Reserve.

• A spaghetti dinner will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Norwin Elks. The dinner is free for veterans, Elks members and their guest veterans. Menu: spaghetti, salad and non-alcoholic drink.
