Fundraisers

• Heritage Methodist Church on the Diamond in Ligonier will host a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 16 at the church, 107 W. Main St. Menu: spaghetti with meat sauce, garden salad, bread, cake and beverage, $10. Dine in or takeout. A gluten-free meal will be available. Proceeds will benefit local and foreign missions.

• Westmoreland County Blind Association is seeking gift basket donations for its Oct. 4 bingo bash planned at West Point Fire Hall, Hempfield. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Details: 724-837-1250 or tinyurl.com/3fkahe9e.

• Jeannette Knights of Columbus hosts bingo at 7 p.m. Fridays in Mersinger Hall at Ascension Church, 615 Division St., Jeannette. Doors open at 6 p.m. and early birds begin at 6:30 p.m. Players younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Smoke-free venue. Food will be available and there will be a 50-50 and instant bingos. • Latrobe Art Center will host its annual Yellow Tie Gala from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 22 in an open air dining room and dance floor on Ligonier Street in Latrobe. There will be a banana split bar, heavy appetizers, music by Mike Urick and the Modelaires and an open bar. Cost: $90; art center members, $75. Ticket deadline: Aug. 15. History

• Baltzer Meyer Historical Society will sponsor a program, “Metaphysics and the Paranormal: The Science Behind the Haunt,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16 at Harrold Hall, 642 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Hempfield. Jay Blackburn will be the speaker.

Meetings

• South Hills Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Bethel Park Municipal Building, 5100 W. Library Ave. There will be a 50-50 raffle and prizes for children. The program will be “The Hands that Held History: Early American Coppers.” Public welcome. Membership applications are being accepted. Details: 724-984-6611.

• Rostraver Sportsmen and Conservation Association, 559 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18. The club hosts trap shoots from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, and at 10 a.m. Thursdays and 11 a.m. Saturdays. Public welcome. Details: 412-580-9038 or rostraversca.org.

Senior Citizens

• Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will have banana split bingo at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 12. Prizes will reflect flavors and items found on a banana split. The center will observe Hawaiian Day on Aug. 13. Hawaiian chicken skewers will be served and everyone is asked to bring a Hawaiian-themed dish to share. Special event

• Disability Options Network will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act at a free festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 15 at pavilion D of Hempfield Park, 220 Forbes Trail Road. The family-friendly event will feature free food, vendors, children’s activities, resources, a fireworks display and music by East Coast Turnaround. Public welcome.

Theater

• Geyer Performing Arts Center will present the musical, “Something Rotten,” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 through 16 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at the theater, 111 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Cost: $20. Tickets: geyerpac.com or at the door.
