Art
• Greensburg Art Center will have a free exhibit, “The Third Dimension,” Sept. 25 to Oct. 22 at the center, 230 Todd School Road. Works will include sculpture, artisan craft and 3D relief work. A free opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25. Details: greensburgartcenter.org
• The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art Auxiliary at Ligonier Valley will host a sweater pumpkin-making party from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at the museum, 1 Boucher Lane. • Norwin Chamber of Commerce’s OktChamberfest will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at Quinn Brewing, 3000 Commerce Loop, suite 3200, North Huntingdon. • The Hilltop Quilters annual quilt show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 108 Dutch Hill Road, Mt. Pleasant Township. Free admission and parking. Quilts will be for sale and there will be a raffle, craft sales, silent auction, food and a bake sale. New members welcome.
• The 50th annual Tag Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 24 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 25 in Laird Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 3202 N. Hills Road, Murrysville. A half-price sale will be until noon Saturday when there will be a $2 box sale. Details: 724-327-0728

• Bushy Run Lions will have a drive-thru barbecue chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until sold out Sept. 26 at the Bushy Run Lions Community Building, Church Street, Claridge. Lecture
• The Westmoreland History Education Center at Historic Hanna’s Town will sponsor a program, “Penn’s Woods: Plenty for the Use of Man,” at 1 p.m. Sept. 25 at the center, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield. Michael Doucette, a service forester at Forbes State Forest, will discuss how the forest was before European settlement, the uses for different types of wood and how the land changed with a transition to farming. A guided tour of trees will be afterward. Cost: $8; senior citizens and students through 12th grade, $6; Westmoreland Historical Society members and children 5 and younger, free. Meetings
• Women Supporting Women will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 25 at Temple of Praise Fellowship Hall, 302 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Greensburg. Women are welcome to learn how faith can change their life.
• Penn Township Senior Citizens will meet Sept. 28 at Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Trafford. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 2. Lunch: $6. Dues: $2. Entertainment will be ventriloquist Cindy Speck.
