• Laurelville Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host outdoor Sunset Yoga with Find Your Fire Fitness at 7:30 p.m. July 9 atop Laurelville’s Sunset Hill. Bring a mat. In case of rain, the event will be in the Shenandoah gymnasium. Cost: $15. Tickets: visit the community event section of Laurelville.org or the Laurelville Facebook page.

Club News

• Greensburg Garden Center will meet at 6 p.m. July 6 at the center Lefevre Butterfly Garden, 951 Old Salem Road, Greensburg. Light refreshments will be served.

Fundraisers

• E C Cruisers Car Club will host a car cruise from 5 to 9 p.m. July 2 at Bruster’s Real Ice Cream and Poulich’s Pit BBQ, Old Route 119 South, New Stanton. Rain or shine. • Lincoln Heights Civic Association will host bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. July 7 and 15 at the center, 42 Millersdale Road, Jeannette. There will be 20 regular games. Cost is 25 cents for a three-card bingo board. Payout is 50/50. Free coffee.

Library news

• West Newton Library is seeking donations of hardback adult fiction books. Books can be dropped off in bags or boxes on the library front porch, 124 N. Water St., or from noon to 5 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Do not place donations in the return book drop box.

Meetings

• Laurel Harmony Chorus has resumed in-person rehearsals at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of each month in the Robertshaw Amphitheater in St. Clair Park, Greensburg. Zoom rehearsals continue on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Female singers needed. Walk-ins welcome. Details: 724-610-5766

• Super Seniors of Westmoreland County will meet at noon July 6 at Community United Methodist Church, 3487 Route 130, Trafford. Ventriloquist Cindy Speck will entertain. Lunch: $6. Special events

• Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield, will host an Independence Day celebration from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be living history displays by members of Proctor’s Militia and the Declaration of Independence will be read aloud as it was in 1776. Free admission.

• Laurelville Retreat Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant Township, will host a 3rd of July party featuring the Honeytown Band from noon to 4 p.m. July 3 at the center gazebo near the lodge. Bring a chair. The new pavilion near the pool will be dedicated at 12:30 p.m. and there will be music and free hot dogs, chips and lemonade in the small dining hall while supplies last. A community worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. July 4 in the gymnasium. Food will be sold from noon to 7 p.m. July 3 and noon to 5 p.m. July 4 in the welcome center.
