Festival
• The St. Patrick’s Day Food and Family Fest will be March 13 in downtown Irwin. Photos with St. Patrick and children’s games will be at the Shidle Lodge, 417 Main St. The first 125 people to have their photos taken will receive either an Irish derby, green beads or a rubber snake, while supplies last. Feathers Artists Market, 102 Fourth St., will have a caricature artist. Businesses and restaurants will sell Irish foods and alcohol, where permitted. • The Community Women’s Club of Level Green is sponsoring a March Madness raffle through March 31. The winner will receive a $100 Applebee’s gift card, a $100 Wine and Spirit gift card and 60 Pa. • St. Mark Episcopal Church, 335 Locust St., Johnstown, is taking orders for a ham loaf sale. Cost: $14, for a two-pound loaf; $7, for a one-pound loaf. • West Hempfield Presbyterian Church will host its annual Haiti spaghetti dinner as a drive-thru event from 4 to 6:30 p.m. March 20 at the church, 8 W. Workshops
SCORE, a national volunteer organization dedicated to helping small businesses and non-profit organizations, will offer two free online workshops in March.
• Small Business Basics, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 13, is intended to help new businesses get off to the right start by studying the legal requirements of starting a new business, business plans, record keeping, taxes, bank loan financing and marketing.
• First Steps to Opening a Restaurant, 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 18, will give real insights into the issues and opportunities of opening a restaurant, catering business or food specialty business.

• Penn State Extension will present a live webinar, “Seed Starting Made Simple,” from 7 to 8:15 p.m. March 18 online at Zoom.us.
