• A holiday craft and vendor show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at Mack Hall at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 200 Leger Road, North Huntingdon. • Circleville Volunteer Fire Department will host an open house from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 at the firehall, 129 Robbins Station Road, North Huntingdon. There will be food trucks, a children’s fire safety trailer, kids games and a basket raffle. Safety presentations will include a fire extinguisher simulation, smoke detector safety, car seat checks, children’s fire safety and more. A vehicle extrication demonstration will be at 3:30 p.m.
• St. Barbara Parish, 111 Raymaley Road, Penn Township, will host bingo at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 6 at the church. • The Amazing Westmoreland Heritage Trail Race 2 will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Murrysville Senior Center, 3091 Carson Ave., rain or shine. Check-in: 9 a.m. at the senior center. Cost: $30 for a one-person team; $50 for a two-person team; proceeds benefit the Westmoreland Heritage Trail and Community Women’s Club of Level Green. Team registrations will be accepted on race day for an additional $10. Teams will race along the trail and look for items and clues and execute tasks for a chance to win cash prizes. A children’s Haystack Scavenger Hike will be at 11 a.m., and there will be food, a basket raffle, games and 50-50. Registration deadline is Oct. 4. • The 21st annual Penn-Trafford CROP Walk will be Oct. 17 at Bushy Run Battlefield. • Christ Lutheran Church, West Newton, is sponsoring a bus trip Oct. 28 to see the production of “Queen Esther” at the Sight and Sound Theatre, Strasburg, Lancaster County. Bus will depart at 8 a.m. and return by 10:30 p.m. Cost: $125, includes transportation, driver tip, show ticket and lunch buffet at Hershey Farm Restaurant.
