Work on Route 30 Cedar Street exit in Hempfield set to begin

PennDOT will begin work Monday on improvements to the Cedar Street exit on Route 30 in Hempfield.

The Cedar Street Improvement Project will include single-lane restrictions between the Mt.Pleasant Road on-ramp and the Cedar Street exit through mid-June.

Cedar Street Exit will be closed on April 20, April 21, May 20 and May 21 and a a posted detour will be in place using Route 30, Route 119, Huff Avenue, Broad Street, Rugh Street and Summit Drive.

Additional work planned by PennDOT the week of April 13 includes:

Brushing:

Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in Hempfield

Various routes in Upper Burrell, Lower Burrell and Washington townships

Patching:

Various routes in Salem and Murrysville

Pipe cleaning:

Route 31 (Mt. Pleasant Road) in South Huntingdon

Route 2001 (Bridgeport Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township

Route 2012 (Armburst Road) in Hempfield

Route 3089 (Buttermore Avenue) in East Huntingdon and Hempfield

Shoulder stabilization:

Route 981 (Alverton-Mt.Pleasant Road) in East Huntingdon

Shoulder cutting:

Route 2043 (Linn Run/Darlington Road) in Ligonier Township

Side dozing:

Route 381 (Indian Creek Road) in Donegal Township

Ditching:

Route 2001 (Bridgeport Road) in Mt. Pleasant Township

Route 819 (Mt. Pleasant-Scottdale Road) in East Huntingdon

Route 3011 (Iron City Hill Road) in Rostraver

Route 2035 (Solomon Temple Road) in Ligonier Township

Route 31 in Mt. Pleasant Township

Inlet repair:

Route 22 in Salem

Bridge cleaning:

Various routes in New Alexandria, Latrobe, Derry and Unity

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-349-7623 —for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.
