A Uniontown man is accused of fatally shooting a woman in Uniontown on Friday morning, police said.

Danny Richard Sottile Jr., 45, was charged by Uniontown police with criminal homicide, aggravated and simple assault and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the shooting on the city’s Iowa Street.

Sottile was arraigned before District Judge Jason Cox and placed in the Fayette County Prison without any bond set, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 27.

Uniontown police declined to comment on the shooting or the suspect’s arrest.

Fayette County Coroner Dr. Phillip Reilly said no information regarding the death of the woman would be released until her family is notified.
