A 23-year-old woman was shot in the wrist outside a private club Thursday in Monessen, according to authorities.

City police and Westmoreland County detectives are investigating the shooting that was reported at 1:30 a.m. on Knox Avenue. The woman was taken to Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital and flown by a medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh-area hospital, according to Melanie Jones, spokesperson for the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.

Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Police haven’t charged anyone in connection with the shooting. Jones said investigators don’t believe there’s any threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to call Monessen police at 724-684-4620 or county detectives at 724-830-3287.
