A Youngwood man was arraigned Wednesday on state police accusations that he bound a woman’s hands and raped her for hours last month, according to court papers.

Brandon Robert Giron, 22, is charged with kidnap, rape, unlawful restraint and related offenses.

Troopers said they were notified Jan. 21 by the 18-year-old accuser who reported receiving a phone call from Giron, an acquaintance, at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 3. She agreed to visit his apartment and rejected his sexual advances after arriving, according to court papers.

Giron tied her wrists together, removed her clothing and raped her for six hours, police said. When he freed her from the binding and the woman put her clothing back on, troopers said Giron forced her back onto the bed and sexually assaulted her again, according to court papers.

The woman eventually was able to leave and immediately told a friend who took photographs of bruising on her chest and buttocks. A sexual assault exam was completed that day. Police said the results were undergoing testing at the state police crime lab.

Troopers obtained a DNA sample from Giron and seized items from his bedroom that are also being tested, according to court papers. He has been jailed since that search Jan. 22 during which police reported finding crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine at his apartment.

Giron’s bail is set at $50,000 in the rape case. He has preliminary hearings in both cases set for Feb. 25.
