When Westmoreland County sheriff’s deputies went looking last month for the subject of an arrest warrant, they found suspected LSD instead at a Youngwood tattoo parlor, according to court papers.
Deputies on Friday arrested the tattoo artist Ulises F. Osorio, 30, of Hempfield, on drug and related offenses. Investigators said they found 23 suspected LSD pills, materials used for packaging LSD and a large amount of marijuana wax at his shop.
Osorio was released on his own recognizance.
Sheriff’s deputies searching for a wanted person on Dec. 20 said they visited The UFO Ink on Depot Street. Osorio told them the wanted person had been staying at his shop, but wasn’t there at the time. Deputies said in court papers Osorio was smoking marijuana when they approached him.
During a search of the shop, Deputies John Dixon and Sgt. Irvin Shipley reported finding “significant evidence of felony drug activity,” according to court papers. Osorio warned them that the items in the shop could make them sick and hallucinate.
Police seized bags containing hundreds of empty pill capsules, along with bongs and pipes. Osorio told investigators that the wanted person brought paper soaked in LSD, a hallucinogenic drug also known as acid, to the shop and put pieces of it in the pill capsules. Marijuana wax is a more potent form of the drug that is typically smoked in a pipe.
Deputies said the business was evicted by the landlord after the discovery. A post on the business’ Facebook page said the parlor was temporarily closed and a new location was being sought.
Osorio did not have an attorney listed in online court records. He could not be reached. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 28.
