A suspect in a Wilkinsburg home invasion Monday appears to have been killed by his accomplice, Allegheny County police said.

Officers were called just before 11 p.m. to the 1600 block of Penn Avenue, police said, where two men confronted a woman outside at gunpoint before entering her home.

Inside, the suspects were met with two armed male residents, police said.

“One of the intruders began shooting at the two male residents as he fled out the front door,” Lieutenant Venerando Costa said.

He said the second intruder ran out the back door.

Wilkinsburg Police found the body of a 29-year-old male, wearing a ski mask, along Superior Street just off Penn Avenue.

The two armed residents did not fire their guns, Costa said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police tipline at 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477).
