A woman found shot in Pittsburgh’s Homewood North neighborhood early Monday morning died after being taken to the hospital.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office said Ebony McCary, 27, of Pittsburgh died about an hour after she was found by police in the 1000 block of Blackadore Avenue in the city’s Homewood section at 2:30 a.m.

Police said officers and medics responded to the area after an alert of shots fired.

Officers found McCary in the road, and gave aid until medics arrived.

Police said they had no description of the shooter and were continuing to investigate.
