A woman and a police officer were hurt Tuesday morning following a response to a domestic 911 call in Pittsburgh, Public Safety spokesperson Maurice Matthews said.

Matthews said police responded to a 911 call around 3:20 a.m. in the 7000 block of Apple Street. Upon arrival, police could hear arguing inside the home, he said.

A man spoke with police on the front porch before shoving one officer, causing the officer to suffer a wrist injury during the fall, Matthews said. A second officer arrested the man shortly after.

Police found a woman inside the home with a wound to her head.

Matthews said both the officer and woman were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The suspect has been identified as Anan Todd, 31, of Pittsburgh.

He is charged with assault of a law enforcement officer, strangulation, terroristic threats, false imprisonment, resisting arrest, arson-reckless burning or exploding, recklessly endangering another person and three counts of aggravated assault.

Todd was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and denied bail.

Online court documents indicate his preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 15 in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
