Allegheny County Police are investigating a shooting in Duquesne early Saturday morning.

Emergency dispatchers were notified at 4:15 a.m. that a woman had arrived at an area hospital with gunshot wounds to her arm and wrist. She is expected to survive, police said.

First responders found evidence of a shooting at the intersection of Viola Avenue and South Fifth Street in Duquesne.

On Saturday afternoon, Allegheny County Police identified Deandre Hawkins, 28, of McKeesport, as the suspect.

He was charged by criminal complaint with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, strangulation and reckless endangerment, police said.

Although an arrest warrant was issued for Hawkins, he has not yet been arrested, and his whereabouts are unknown.

He should be considered potentially armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the incident or Hawkins’ whereabouts is asked to call the county police tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477.)
