Woman’s body recovered from Mon River in West Homestead

A woman’s body was recovered Saturday from the Monongahela River in West Homestead, according to the Allegheny County Police.

The sighting was reported to Allegheny County 911 shortly after noon, police said.

First responders found the body and recovered it.

There were no obvious signs of trauma to the woman, police said.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of the woman’s death, along with identification.

Anyone with information is asked to call the county police tip line at 833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
