Woodland Hills School District announced Wednesday that online schooling will be extended for at least another 30 days.
The district cited statistics from the Pennsylvania Department of Health showing that the number of covid-19 cases in Allegheny County have not been trending downward over the last two weeks. Per the district’s reopening plan, the district will only move to in-person learning once the county experiences a 14-day decline in the number of positive covid-19 cases.
“We continually consider the health and safety of all our staff and students while creating a 100% distance learning method of delivery and receiving instruction,” said the letter to students and families from Superintendent James Harris.
District officials plan to review Allegheny County’s covid-19 data again during the week of Nov. 16 to determine whether in-person instruction will resume at that time.
