Several people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out Friday night at a house in Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington neighborhood.

The fire was reported at about 9:30 p.m. on Ruth Street. A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman said the house apparently was being worked on by contractors, all of whom were accounted for. Several workers were treated at the scene.

The fire primarily was centered at the back of the house, she said, noting firefighters were able to get it under control quickly.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
