Woodland Hills administration to move operations to high school building in Churchill
The Woodland Hills School District administration is moving its operations from North Braddock to the Woodland Hills High School on Greensburg Pike in Churchill.
The new administration is set to be in place at the start of the school year.
The move comes after the Woodland Hills School District approved a letter of intent for the Heritage Community Initiatives’ purchase of their current administration building at 531 Jones Avenue in North Braddock.
HCI is a nonprofit organization that serves “thousands of families facing socioeconomic challenges through three major areas of focus – Transportation, Education & Nutrition,” according to their website.
Heritage President and CEO Paula McWilliams said they have been working with the Woodland Hills School District and students within the district for 40 years.
They moved into a wing of the current administrative building for more space to conduct operations, including using classrooms for educational programs and a kitchen for their nutrition program.
McWilliams said Heritage Community Initiatives has been pursuing full acquisition of the building since 2017.
“We were delighted that the school board passed our letter of intent,” McWilliams said. “
She said the sale should be finalized within a couple of months.
As a result of the move, several Woodland Hills School District Administrative departments will be based out of the high school, including building and grounds, business and finance, food services, human resources, and the superintendent’s office.
Offices will be located at the rear of the high school above the athletic field, and signs will be placed throughout the high school to direct visitors.
All visitors will be required to schedule an appointment with administration and check in at the security kiosk located at the campus entrance.
The new mailing address for the district administration is Woodland Hills School District, 2552 Greensburg Pike, Pittsburgh PA 15221.
