Youngwood Volunteer Fire Department was ready for voters at 7 a.m. Tuesday to cast their votes in the primary election.

Primary election day in Western Pennsylvania is Tuesday, June 2. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing inside polling places because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In Allegheny County, your polling place might not be where it was before. Because of the pandemic, the county consolidated the number of polling places.

For more information on polling places, go to the official election pages for your county:

• Allegheny County election page

• Westmoreland County election page

• Armstrong County election page.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has published specific advice for elections officials around the country to clean and disinfect polling places to limit the spread of the virus.

To get information about local races and candidates on your ballot, see below. It should be noted that, in the presidential primary, for instance, Bernie Sanders officially endorsed Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination, but Sanders still appears on the ballot.
