Classes/programs

• Excela Health offers classes to aid people with diabetes in meal planning. Classes meet 1- 3 p.m. Jan. 7 in Excela Square at Latrobe. Details: 724-537-1049

• Excela Health fitness classes for the mind, body and spirit at Westmoreland Hospital, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, unless otherwise noted:

— Intro to HIT, 4 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Jan. 7 at Excela Square at Latrobe, 100 Excela Health Drive

— Core, 3:30-4:15 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Jan. 8

— Body Sculpting and Core Conditioning, 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Jan. 8

— One-hour yoga class, 5:15 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 9 and 16 at Excela Latrobe Hospital and Jan. 23 and 30 at Excela Square at Latrobe, 100 Excela Health Drive

— Strength and Tone, 3:30-4:15 p.m. Mondays beginning Jan. 6

— Interval Training, 4:30- 5:30 p.m. Mondays beginning Jan. 6

— Chair Fit, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays beginning Jan. 13

Meetings

• Highmark PALS Group meets every first Monday of the month at 10 a.m. in McKenna Center for Active Adults, 971 Old Salem Road, Greensburg. The group knits and crochets lap robes to donate to nursing and personal care homes. Details: 800-988-0706

Support groups

• This is an informal “open” support group for those who have suffered the suicide death of a loved one. L.O.S.S. offers the opportunity for sharing, support and encouragement for anyone who has experienced the profound grief of losing a loved one to suicide. Meetings are held monthly the first Tuesday of each month, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Mental Health America of Southwestern PA, 409 Coulter Avenue, Suite 4, Greensburg. Details: 724-834-6351, ext. 118
