Blood drives

Vitalant, formerly Central Blood Bank, will host a blood drive 1-6:30 p.m. Monday at Champion Christian School, 1076 Kings Way, Donegal. Appointments: 877-258-4825 or vitalant.org

Classes/programs

• Childbirth and beyond weekender version, covering labor and birth options for pain control, cesarean birth, postpartum, the normal newborn and breathing/relaxation techniques, is planned 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Excela Square at Latrobe, 100 Excela Health Drive.

These classes will meet in Excela Westmoreland Hospital, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg:

— Family and friends CPR, 6-9 p.m. Nov. 5

— Two-part Infant Care class, 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 6 and 13

— Breastfeeding Success class is planned 6-8:30 p.m. Nov. 7

• WCCC is partnering with APPRISE, the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Assistance Program, to sponsor a free Medicare presentation about the basics of the system. Sessions planned:

— 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 5, Westmoreland County Community College, New Kensington, 1150 Fifth Ave.

— 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 7, Ligonier Valley Center for Active Adults, 135 Kalassay Drive

• What women and men need to know about long-term care will be presented 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in YWCA Westmoreland County, 424 N. Main St., Greensburg. Have you thought about what you would do if you needed some help with your care? We will discuss: health and aging in America, the three steps that can help personalize your Long Term Care (LTC) strategy, effective funding of LTC expenses, what to look for in an LTC solution and how LTC benefits are paid. — Yoga with Nancy Micheals is planned 10-11:30 a.m. Thursdays Nov. 7 to Dec. 19. A series designed to focus on specific areas of the body to strengthen and stretch muscles. Classes will help participants build strength, balance the body’s system, increase body awareness, and increase energy while learning specific postures. Registration is required. Call 724-834-9390.

• Excela Health will offer a Wellness Check diagnostic screening in partnership with Latrobe Rotary, 6:30- 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Derry Area Middle School, 994 N. • Excela Health offers a variety of options for those dealing with grief and loss:

— Compassionate Friends, intended for those who have experienced the death of a child, 7-9 p.m. Nov. 11, Excela Square at Frick, 508 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant

Wellness symposium

• Excela Health Behavioral Health Services will host its Children’s Emotional Wellness Symposium 9 a.m-5 p.m. Nov. 6, in Excela Latrobe Hospital. Space is limited for this free program. Workshops

• Westmoreland County Recovery Friendly Workplace and the Westmoreland County Drug Overdose Task Force are co-sponsoring a workshop for employers 8-11 a.m. Nov. 7 in The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N.
