A coronavirus vaccination clinic was held at PNC Park for high risk Allegheny Health Network patients 75 and older on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021.

Allegheny Health Network will host a covid-19 vaccination clinic at PNC Park on Saturday for individuals in phase 1A of Pennsylvania’s vaccination plan.

The clinic is meant for those receiving their first dose of the vaccine. Appointments are required; only those who have pre-registered can receive a vaccine at the clinic. Walk-ins will not be permitted.

AHN officials plan to administer approximately 3,500 doses, said AHN Chief Medical Officer Dr. Imran Qadeer.

Phase 1A includes anyone over the age of 65 and people between the ages of 16 and 64 with high-risk conditions. It also includes health-care workers and residents at long-term care facilities, though they have likely been vaccinated at workplaces or facilities.

“Given that supply of the covid-19 vaccine remains limited, AHN is continuing to hold appointment-only vaccination clinics,” Qadeer said. “As supply allows, those who have an AHN MyChart will be alerted when a vaccine is available for them.”

AHN will also launch a scheduling portal on their website that will allow those who are eligible to receive vaccines based on the state’s eligibility requirements.

“To ensure both speed and equitable distribution of the vaccine, AHN will also continue to target the most vulnerable populations, including marginalized communities which have been most acutely impacted by the pandemic,” Qadeer said.

AHN previously offered vaccines to over 2,000 patients 75 and older at PNC Park on Feb. 6.
