Waddington Rehab Center offers solutions and hope
Addiction destroys lives. Locally, in Allegheny County, overdose deaths rose 22% from the previous year. But people who are desperate should know that help is available.
Waddington Rehab Center was founded in May 2016 to help people get their lives back from the destruction caused by alcoholism and drug abuse. At Waddington, the belief is that every person is unique, and that everyone’s treatment should be designed specifically for them, using a variety of methods.
Waddington has two locations: the South Hills section of Pittsburgh and New Brighton in Beaver County. The South Hills facility provides short-term and long-term rehabilitation services and the New Brighton facility provides complete drug rehabilitation services from beginning to end.
Recovery starts in the inpatient drug rehabilitation detox unit. This is where a person, under medical supervision, begins the process of removing drugs and alcohol from their system. In this challenging first step to getting clean and sober, the Waddington staff ensures that their patients are safe and as comfortable as possible.
At the inpatient residential program, individuals go through group treatment and individual therapy. Patients are given a foundation of recovery and taught healthy ways to cope and manage life without using drink or drugs. Individuals are encouraged to take an active role in their own recovery. Waddington clients are monitored by a caring staff at all times.
A big part of Waddington’s philosophy is family involvement. They want their clients’ loved ones to be engaged throughout the treatment, including meetings at Waddington facilities. Family members are taught about the disease of drug and alcohol addiction and what they can do to help their relative stay clean.
Short-term treatment options can last from one to four weeks, while longer-term treatments can last up to 14 weeks. The Waddington facilities have separate wings to house males, females and members of the LGBTQ community.
Waddington has a special focus on treatment for LGBTQ people. Their staff is trained, empathetic and aware of the distinctive needs and many obstacles facing them. The separate LGBTQ wing has 26 beds.
Waddington Rehab Center also specializes in traumatic brain injury (TBI), which is not widely recognized as co-occurring with substance use disorder. TBI interferes with a person’s ability to adhere to their substance-abuse treatment plan by causing a wide range of cognitive and behavioral consequences. Waddington counselors help try to identify patients whose functioning is affected by TBI.
Waddington Rehab Center accepts private pay, along with UPMC (Pittsburgh facility only), Highmark, Anthem Blue Cross, other Blue Cross/ Blue Shield private insurances, state funded insurances i.e. Performcare, Beacon Health/ VBH and CCBHO insurance.
For the past five years, the Waddington Drug Rehab Center has been helping people get their lives back. They are available by phone or email at all times. If you or someone you know has a problem with addiction, reach out today.
