Pennsylvania added 705 new covid-19 cases and 12 deaths on Wednesday.
Wednesday marks the eighth straight day the state has posted new cases below 1,000. In that eight-day span, they have averaged 791 new cases a day, which is 17.3% less than the previous eight days (956 between July 21-28).
The state’s department of health puts the total number of cases at 115,714 with 7,244 deaths.

In Southwestern Pennsylvania, Allegheny’s 70 new cases raised its total to 8,512.
Here’s a look at the total positive cases (as of Wednesday) for neighboring counties, the growth from Tuesday, as well as the overall positivity rate:

There were 19,740 cases among residents and 23,787 among employees of 867 facilities in the state.
Every county in the state has seen a death attributed to coronavirus, with 11 counties reporting 200 or more. Of those, the majority have taken place in eastern counties:
