DOYLESTOWN — A man shot and wounded by police during a standoff near Philadelphia last month has died, authorities said.
The Bucks County district attorney’s office said Thomas Edward Zeller, 61, was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health. The Montgomery County coroner’s office was scheduled to do an autopsy Monday.
Zeller had been hospitalized since Feb. 20, when police said he was shot during a standoff in Doylestown Township. Prosecutors said earlier that police responded to a home on a report of an armed man upset and damaging property. Authorities said he barricaded himself and police tried to negotiate his surrender, but he was shot by police.
Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub is reviewing the shooting.
